The story is about the celebration for first day of summer in a Utopian city of Omelas whose prosperity depends on the perpetual misery of a single child. The narrator has described the city as unusually pleasing like a fairy tale of old times. But since the reader is not convinced about this abundantly pleasant town the narrator introduces us to final element of the city which is its only atrocity. The city's constant state of serenity and splendor requires that a single unfortunate child be kept in perpetual filth, darkness, and misery. Once the citizens are old enough to know the truth, some of them accept his misery for the happiness of the city and some walks away from it and no one knows where they go.

It’s a movie which focuses on distinguishing people on the basis of their class, following the hierarchy made by the society and the cruel ways of natural selection. In the movie everything freezes when a climate engineering experiment catastrophically backfires creating an ice age. The only thing that can save the humanity is a circumnavigational train in which the passengers have become segregated, with the elite in the extravagant front cars and the poor in squalid tail compartments controlled by armed guards. Soon a rebellion starts and the poor gradually learn about the dark secrets of the train which is kind of fake utopia where everyone looks superficially happy. In the end the train gets destroyed and only two children survive and as they steps out of the train they see a healthy polar bear which signifies that life outside the train is possible.

The fall of the rebel angels by Pieter Bruegel, the Elder is one of the masterpieces at the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium. The subject of this artwork is a biblical scene taken from the Book of Revelation The painting shows angels led by the central figure of the Archangel Michael, clad in gold armor, beating back the rebel angels from heaven. The insurgents fall from the light upper-half of the painting, depicting heaven, down into the dark depths of hell, represented by the lower section. The message of the painting is the difference between wanting to sin and resisting against sinning. Just like during the period of our youth, when we have to make choices or decisions to have a better life some of us give into the temptations and choose to commit some sins i.e. choose the dark path while the others resist through those temptations resulting in choosing a good path for themselves.
